We started
with a oven
and a street address.
Code Brew began the way most honest things do — with a need and a willingness to fill it. Deer River had plenty of good intentions but lacked a place where bread was treated as craft and a grocery was treated as curation.
So we opened a door on Division Street. We bought an oven. We learned the rhythm of a morning that starts before sunrise. And we invited the town in.
What grew from that was not a business plan but a habit — the habit of showing up, of measuring flour by feel, of remembering who likes their sourdough crustier and who prefers the soft center. That is the kind of place we are building.
